Back pain can arise for a number of different reasons, although up to 85% is diagnosed as non-specific. Common factors that may result in symptoms range from simple soft tissue strain and poor posture to lack of exercise and stress.
Repetitive strain can occur in work and sport. It covers a multitude of different musculoskeletal conditions and is usually caused by bad posture, which can cause pain, a sense of heaviness, numbness, tingling and weakness.
Our primary focus is to restore function and improve your quality of life through caring, skillful and personalised applications of physiotherapy services for clients of all ages. We also have a satellite clinic at Cox Green in Maidenhead and are able to offer home visits on request.
Sports injuries can not only knock your training schedule but can also knock your confidence. We are here to rebuild that confidence to get you back into action quickly. Acute injuries if not treated properly may turn chronic and be more difficult to treat. Treatment includes a full assessment and soft tissue mobilisation and electrotherapy, as appropriate.
If you work full-time, getting to a see a physio during the working day can be a real pain. This is why we offer our clients evening slots on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 8pm. Please get in touch if you would like to find out more.
Pilates can help improve posture, muscle tone, balance and joint mobility, as well as relieve stress and tension. It focuses on strengthening the core muscles so you are not straining to hold your body up. Also, your head, back and feet are positioned in such a way as to allow muscles to work effectively, without putting excess strain on one muscle group over another.
We run three Pilates classes a week, specialising in clinical Pilates. Clinical Pilates is suitable for all ages and people with back, neck or joint pains. The exercises have been specifically adapted for a clinical population. The classes are run by Alison Osborn, the lead practitioner, and usually require a one to one session before starting to teach the basic setting position and breathing techniques.
The classes are
Pilates Ball Class - Wednesday 10:15 to 11:15
Beginners Mat Class - Thursdays 9:00 to 10:00
Intermediate Mat Class - Thursdays 10:15 to 11:15
